Our schools are more than just facilities, they are places of learning, hubs for resources, and centers of pride. Our schools are rooted in community and I will focus my decisions as a board trustee around the best interests of the schools and their families, leadership, and staff.
Provide more resources for families and guardians of students.
Our families are a cornerstone of the work that our schools achieve. Many students and their families need access to vital resources to help with things like rent and utilities. I know that we can bring more resources to our families and help them access these things.
Fight for better wages, benefits, and support for our teachers, and staff.
Our teachers, staff, and leadership work hard to support our families and our schools. We need to show them our appreciation by providing additional resources, consider additional stipends and benefits for roles outside of their daily work, and retain our people for the long-term.
Bring students voices to the table and work to address student concerns.
I believe students should be a part of the process when it comes to decisions that affect students. Students should feel empowered to make their voices heard and ask the district for the things that matter most.
